A phone makes a poor desk clock: check the time and you end up in your messages. Grain is a plain wood-effect block that sits beside your monitor or on the bedside table, with the time and the room temperature glowing through its front in soft LED digits. Nothing to unlock, nothing to scroll.
Why it works
- Time and temperature at a glance: 12- or 24-hour time on the left, the room temperature in °C or °F on the right, and the date when you want it.
- Three alarms: set up to three, each for every day, weekdays or weekends. Each one rings for a minute.
- Three brightness levels: bright for the daytime, dim for a bedside table at night.
- Dark until you need it: in sound-control mode the display switches off after 10 seconds and lights up again with a clap or a tap. Or leave it on all the time.
- Four finishes: black, brown, bamboo or white. The digits are white, except on the brown one, where they glow amber.
Before you buy
Grain runs on USB power, and there's no plug adapter in the box: plug it into a computer's USB port or a USB phone charger. The 4 AAA batteries it takes (not included) are only a backup, and the temperature reading has a margin of 1 to 2 °C, so treat it as a guide. The finish is wood-effect, not solid wood.

Free delivery on every UK order. There’s no minimum spend.
Most of our products arrive in an estimated 6 to 9 working days from the day you order. A few take longer, up to an estimated 19 working days. They’re estimates, not fixed dates: busy periods, bank holidays and customs checks can add a few days.
Orders are dispatched from our international fulfilment partners’ warehouses, outside the UK. We deliver to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Returns
You can change your mind within 14 days of delivery, no reason needed. If something arrives faulty, damaged or wrong, we put it right at our cost.
Before you order, please note: change-of-mind returns go to our fulfilment partner’s warehouse, which is outside the UK, and you pay the return postage. The cost depends on the item’s size and weight, and international postage can cost more than a low-priced item. Faulty, damaged or wrong items are on us.

Will I pay anything extra on delivery?
Not on orders up to £135: the total you see at checkout is the total you pay. On orders over £135, import VAT, and for some goods customs duty, may be charged when the parcel arrives in the UK.

It’s ok, easy to set up. it would be better if the brightest could be changed lighter for dark rooms at night

Its a cute little thing
Confusing instructions at first, but nice working clock. The beep persists after every setting, and is annoying. You will wake up. Stops the beeping after 10 seconds of no contact.
I am highly satisfied with this product, having purchased two units—one for personal use and another as a gift. its exceptional brightness has exceeded my expectations, leading to a very positive experience.
9 days to au. Temperature value seems accurate. I like the inclusion of the cr2032 battery so it keeps the time even when the power is off. I liked it so much i bought another one in a different colour. For makers there's a lot of usable space inside and it has an easily decipherable 8 digit 7-segment display on a 16-pin ffc cable, so very easy to add your own controller to work with the existing display. The back is just glued in so you just need to prise it out slowly until the glue gives way.
So far, this is a good clock. clear and bright, works well. the instructions are very small and a little convoluted, but i took a pic of it with my phone and expanded the image enough to see. once you figure out the "code" it's written in, it's okay. i was able to set everything i wanted. i would recommend this product if you need a digital clock that's visible in a dark room.
Easy to set up
English instructions not so clear. Used chat gpt to translate from the chinese instructions and this was much better.
The clock works and looks really nice. You can dim the light, set up to 3 alarms, set if you want to see date and time (switches from time to date and back) or only time (temp is always displayed with time)
Note that you can use it with the attached cable or with batteries. If you use the cable, the display is always on. If you use batteries, then the display tunrs off after a couple of seconds, and will turn on again if you make a noice or move the clock.
I love it, I ordered it for the bedroom, the light doesn't bother me because it's off until you touch it, then it turns on and it's perfectly visible for the seconds you have programmed it to be on.
A small dent on the front, fortunately not too noticeable.
I bought it as a clock for my room.
Even if the room is dark, you can still tell the time, so it might be suitable to place in the bedroom.
Although it is possible to install AAA batteries, it seems to be only a supplementary feature, and power is basically required from the USB cable.
Also, the manual is only available in English and Chinese, so to translate it into other languages, you need to take a photo of the manual with your smartphone camera and then use a translation tool to translate it.
If you can prepare the installation environment and complete the initial setup, I think it's a very good product.

Perfect! When off, no numbers visible... can be powered by usb, switches off with laptop going to sleep and remembers the time when laptop wakes up (even after week!). Perfect for my usecase.
Looks chic. But even the darkest setting is still too bright for a bedroom. You need 4 AAA batteries for the power reserve. (Why so many?)
